Fall is here, and the fastest, simplest, and most economical way to bring the new season into your home is to start by incorporating warm, earthy tones into your decor, think burnt oranges, deep reds, and rich browns. All you have to do is look around outside, see the colors Mother Nature is surrounding you with.
Head outside, take a nice brisk walk, pick up pinecones, acorns, and gather leaves, you can also get lucky and find pussy willows or bullrushes which add texture as well as color. Fill containers, get creative, arrange leaves of all colors in bowls or jars, or scattered them across mantels and shelves. You can also consider a centerpiece of seasonal fruits like apples and pumpkins, which not only add a pop of color but can also be used later in cooking or baking.
We love love love candles...they are the cheapest way to add warmth and ambiance to your home. Opt for scents like cinnamon, apple cider, or pumpkin spice to evoke the essence of fall. Place them in strategic spots such as coffee tables, side tables, and bathrooms to create a cozy, inviting atmosphere. You can also make your own potpourri to boil on the woodstove, or in a scent pot using spices and pre-made scents.
Pillow covers are the bomb! In just minutes you can transform a room from one season to the next, add a new color pallette, or add some fun and texture. I like to buy many styles and keep them in the closet ready for the next season.
Lastly, update your porch or entryway with fall decor. A wreath made of dried leaves, berries, or mini pumpkins can be a welcoming sight for guests. Add a few potted mums and some pumpkins or squash to complete the look, or replace summer planters with fall foilage. We love to fill empty spaces with plaid ribbons in fall colors, these simple touches will make your home ready to embrace the beauty and warmth of the fall season.
Happy Autumn decorating to you
